It’s National 401(k) Day

We’re taking a quick break from your regularly scheduled news and celebrations to let you know today is National 401(k) Day. We want to encourage you to use National 401(k) Day as a reminder to review or start your financial plan for your future. Remember, a 401(k) plan is more than just a savings account for your retirement – it’s an investment in your future! The earlier you begin contributing, the more money you’ll have when it’s time to retire! Life changes, and so do your financial priorities, so here’s your yearly reminder to review your options.

Having a 401(k) is a smart way to plan and prepare for your retirement! In addition to how it helps you save money for retirement, a 401(k) offers some great benefits.

  1. Anything you contribute from your paycheck is pre-tax money, which means contributing to your 401(k) lowers your taxable income each year.
  2. At FSG, for every dollar you contribute, we will add $0.50, up to 5% of your gross pay. That’s FREE MONEY to fuel your retirement fund! We’re here to champion your financial success.

As an FSG employee, your contributions automatically begin at 3%. You can increase or decrease your contribution amount at any time by logging in to principal.com. If now isn’t the right time to invest in your retirement, it’s easy to opt out by adjusting your contribution to 0%. Any contribution changes you make will take effect on the first pay period of the following month.

Visit principal.com to review your required notices and take your first steps. If needed, FSG’s contract number is 807047.
