Employee Spotlight: Madeleine Fahey, Project Manager for FSG New York
Meet Madeleine Fahey, Project Manager for FSG New York, who joined FSG in July of 2024. Before joining FSG, Madeleine ran her own electrical contracting business in New Jersey, specializing in commercial public work construction projects. That experience gave her a strong foundation in project management, client relations, and field operations, skills she now puts to work leading some of our most complex projects.
Currently, Madeleine is managing the NYU Langone Health Ambulatory Hub project in Brooklyn. She shared, “Building a healthcare facility of this scale and complexity has been incredibly fulfilling. NYULH’s rigorous design guidelines have challenged me to elevate my technical knowledge and allowed my attention to detail to shine. It’s been a great opportunity to grow as a project manager while contributing to a facility that will serve the community in a meaningful way.”
For Madeleine, teamwork is what makes the job rewarding. “It’s rewarding to see our hard work come to life, transforming drawings into a real facility. While each project brings unique obstacles, I enjoy finding practical, effective solutions, and I couldn’t do that without support from the field, office, and engineering teams.”
Since joining FSG, Madeleine has grown significantly, especially in learning New York City construction practices and regulations. She credits FSG’s trust and support for giving her the confidence to expand her knowledge and leadership skills.
One challenge she has faced is adapting to corporate processes and approvals, which can sometimes slow down momentum in the field. “Early on, I found it frustrating when certain actions were delayed due to procedures outside of my direct control. Over time, I learned to be more proactive and to initiate communication earlier to keep projects on track. It’s taught me the value of strategic planning and patience.”
Outside of work, Madeleine enjoys sailing, fishing, and spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs.
