Kody Hardage, Senior Estimator at FSG San Antonio, earned the highly coveted credential in the Low Voltage and Technology field of Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) this month.
According to the Building Industry Consulting Service (BISCI), “An RCDD is an individual who has demonstrated knowledge in the design, integration and implementation of telecommunications and data communications technology systems and related infrastructures. These individuals are uniquely positioned to create the detailed design of a new system and/or integrate design in an existing structure. The RCDD is one of the highest design credentials in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, recognized worldwide.”
Kody’s initial plan was to study for the RCDD exam over the course of one year. This plan was altered when his manager asked if he could complete his studying in three months so he could attend an intensive training program that became available in October. While working full-time as a Senior Estimator, Kody spent his evenings studying into the late night in order to accomplish his goals.
The RCDD credential recognizes that Kody possesses the knowledge and experience to properly design a telecommunications system that meets global industry standards and codes.
An RCDD is a beneficial component to all stages of a project. In the initial phase, they aid clients to help them save through smart cable plant design. In the construction phase, they ensure that plans are implemented according to the RCDD standards. In the completion phase, the RCDD signs off on the quality of the installation.
Join us in congratulating Kody on this milestone accomplishment!
