Dan Tessier Honored By Texas Sign Association

The Texas Sign Association (TSA) held its 64th Annual Conference this weekend. For Dan Tessier’s loved ones and the FSG family, this year’s TSA conference held greater significance than past years. Our dear friend Dan, who passed in October 2016, was honored at the conference for his contributions to the Sign industry. Dan was the Branch Manager of the FSG Sign Division and a member of the International Sign Association. He was on the Board of Directors of the Texas Sign Association and President of the Austin Sign Association.

Dan Tessier was inducted into the TSA Hall of Fame for his contributions to the Sign industry for which he dedicated 40 years. Dan’s passion in the industry began as a young boy while helping in his father’s sign shop. The purpose of the TSA Hall of Fame is “to recognize TSA members for distinguished service to Texas Sign Association…” and Dan definitely fit the bill with his contributions and service.

One of Dan’s most visible projects in Texas was the specialty fabrication and installation of the Dallas Cowboy’s AT&T Stadium signage. Among the numerous parking lot, wayfinding, and directional signage was the design, fabrication, and installation of the massive, 42 feet-tall letters to illuminate and brand the roof of the stadium. The signage was designed and fabricated under Dan’s direction and with great care.

Dan was honored this weekend and we were honored every day we had with him. Dan is still greatly missed but his legacy lives on in all the support and love he gave his family, friends, and coworkers, as well as the many signs he created that can be seen worldwide. Thank you, Dan. We are still thinking of you and missing you but your presence is still seen and felt.
