BIM Manager

Job Description

As a BIM Manager, your primary role is to oversee the management of BIM technology in a construction project. This includes ensuring that all stakeholders adhere to the established protocols and standards. You will also be responsible for managing the BIM team, including developing and implementing BIM standards and workflows. As the BIM Manager, it is your duty to ensure that BIM models are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with project requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the BIM team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the effective use of BIM technology throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and workflows following project requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to determine BIM deliverables, goals, and requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate the creation, integration, and maintenance of BIM models and data throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure BIM models comply with project standards, specifications, and codes and are accurate, up-to-date, and coordinated with other disciplines.
  • Implement quality control and assurance processes for BIM models and data, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.
  • Develop and maintain BIM execution plans and model management plans, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of and follow them.
  • Manage the BIM software and hardware resources, including licenses, training, and support.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the BIM team and other project stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on the latest BIM technology, tools, and trends, and identify opportunities to improve BIM workflows and processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop project schedules, budgets, and timelines related to BIM activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in BIM management, with at least 5-7 years of experience in construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM technology, software, and standards, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
  • Familiarity with BIM-related codes and standards, such as ISO 19650, PAS 1192, and COBie.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and owners.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including motivating and developing a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve BIM-related issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
  • Experience with 4D and 5D BIM is a plus.
