Electrical Engineer

Job Description

As a member of the technical staff, the electrical engineer is responsible for designing new electronic products up to full production. This includes specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, pre-production builds, and production transfers. This engineer will also be responsible for technical support of more mature electronic products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, implement, and improve electrical instruments and equipment.
  • Supervise and train project staff as needed.
  • Inspect completed projects to ensure conformance with design standards.
  • Apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • Communicate with customers to define project scope and address deficiencies
  • Review completed design documentation for accuracy and value engineering alternatives
  • Attend coordination meetings to identify changes in electrical design
  • Work closely with other trades engineers to coordinate work installation pathways
  • Read and interpret contract drawings to identify any gaps in available data
  • Create shop drawings to transfer 3D design to real-world applications
  • Track and analyze data to reduce gaps between design and actual work
  • Perform other duties assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree. Electrical Preferred.

  • Ability to answer a high volume of calls and/or emails daily
  • Ability to share work among a customer service team
  • Attentiveness and patience

  • Ability to find the positive in every situation.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • A plus if experienced with Revit, Navisworks, Evolve Revit Add-on, Trimble MEP, and Microsoft Suite
