Kellen Anderson Graduates and Competes in the IEC Wire-off

Kellen joined the Austin electrical division five years ago and is graduating the IEC apprenticeship program next month.

On Thursday may 24th, the annual Cen-Tex IEC Apprentice Wire-Off competition will be held in Austin Texas and Kellen will be representing the FSG Austin division.

Six local apprentices will showcase their skills and knowledge and compete to become the 2012 Cen-Tex Wire-Off Apprentice of the Year. Each apprentice will be given the same wiring schematic and drawings with contactors, relays, wiring, and associated materials and will have to build and install all the components on a 10’x10’ board in a specified time frame. The judges will then determine the winner based on their understanding of the written instructions, their professionalism of the installation, the amount of time to complete, and functionality of the design.

The winner of this event will go on to compete in the IEC National wire off competition this October in Fort Worth. Last Year’s Cent-Tex wire off Champion was FSG’s own

Michael DeWane

Michael Dewane, who went on to compete at the IEC National Expo in Louisville Kentucky.

Congratulations Kellen on your great accomplishment of graduating IEC and we all support you in winning that Wire-off trophy this week.
