Project Spotlight: California State University Northridge – Maple Hall

CSUN recently completed Maple Hall, their first new academic classroom building in over 15 years and FSG is proud to have provided the electrical and non-A/V low-voltage work on the project. Despite difficult lead times, weather, and coordination challenges, FSG California completed the project and the customer is thrilled with the results.

Kevin Joseph, Project Manager for FSG California, explains that this 3-story building project called for a 1000A service and 250KW Emergency backup Generator along with a variety of low voltage solutions including structured cabling, access control, CCTV, a gunshot detection system, Duress Alarm, Rescue Assistance System and more. Navigating this project wasn’t without its hurdles. In addition to the challenges mentioned above, Maple Hall’s connection to a bustling campus and an existing substation meant meticulous planning and was crucial to the project’s success. Our team coordinated closely with the campus management, scheduling any necessary power shutdowns with at least 21 days’ notice to ensure minimal disruption. All those challenges were no match for FSG!

Congratulations to FSG California on a job well done!
