A Trio of Northeast Updates

FSG is just weeks away from occupying our new Northeast Operations Center. With the opening of this facility, FSG will once again have a Master Distribution Center (MDC) in the Northeast. This new facility will stock lighting materials as an MDC, as well as materials for Division 25 NYC lighting projects, NJ Construction projects, and Direct Install programs in New Jersey, Maryland, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Northeast Master Distribution Center

We also have two new promotions to announce!

Eric Erickson

Eric Erickson‘s extensive knowledge in distribution and material management will be leveraged in his new role, where he will be responsible for MDC and local distribution at the new Northeast MDC. Eric has been with the New Jersey operation for over 33 years and possesses extensive experience in the lighting and electrical distribution market. He strongly advocates for lighting education and holds several certifications, including the LC, CLEP, CLMC, and LEED AP. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the NCQLP. FSG is excited to have him in this new role, helping to create another world-class MDC for FSG.

Steve Malave

FSG is also proud to announce the promotion of Steve Malave to Vice President of the New Jersey branch. Steve joined FSG in 2008 as a dispatcher in the NJ Service Department. Although he was new to lighting and electrical services, he continued in this role until the NJ branch won its first Direct Install contract. Steve then moved into the role of Project Manager to support these programs. Steve attended the IES 8-week Fundamentals of Lighting course with a team of individuals from the NJ office to increase his knowledge of lighting products and design, and he excelled in project management for NJ programs. In 2012, FSG won a new direct install program in Maryland and decided to open a brand-new office and warehouse in Baltimore. Steve was asked to help open the new office and act as the operations manager for the new program. He packed up the next week and headed to Baltimore, where he helped build an office and program that is still successful and profitable today. In 2014, Steve came back to New Jersey to take on the Operations Manager role for the NJ branch. During that time, FSG NJ started its Electrical Construction group and began working on tenant fit-out projects with local GCs. Steve continued to increase his knowledge of lighting and business, receiving the CLMC Certification from NALMCO in 2019, and he is currently on the Advisory Council for the Customer Experience Program at Seton Hall University. Steve’s high energy level and willingness to do whatever is required have helped him prosper and grow at FSG, making him an excellent example of the opportunities FSG offers to employees who want to build a career here.
