Lead UX Developer

Job Description

As the Lead UX Developer, you’ll serve a critical role in bridging the design and engineering organization to deliver quality user experiences for our users. You will work with a cross-functional team to build accessible and delightful user interfaces for our products; create fast, scalable, maintainable, and secure systems, define best practices in frontend development; and contribute to our team’s strategy from product ideation to product delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with product, engineering, and key users to help inform product strategy
  • Lead the UX team to break vision work into an executable engineering roadmap.
  • Facilitate and bridge the gap in conversations that span engineering, product management, and UX to help us achieve our business goals.
  • Deliver robust engineering solutions that balance speed and quality
  • Advocate for the user throughout the ideation and development stages
  • Prioritizing competing initiatives with a strong focus on outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Computer Science, Design, or similar degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of professional experience working as a Front-end Engineer or Software Engineer working closely with Designers
  • Significant experience working with web technologies and experience with web standards, including JavaScript, CSS, HTML
  • Advanced knowledge of ECMAScript features and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Ember)
  • Deep understanding of frontend architecture and improving build processes (npm, yarn, webpack, parcel)
  • Experience scaling and architecting large-scale engineering solutions that span multiple projects
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills – able to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • Solid understanding of programming principles
  • Solid understanding of system design principles
  • A deep passion for both code and creativity
  • Experience mentoring team members and leading major projects
