May 2015 – While the world came to see all of the newest lighting technologies at this years Lightfair International, FSG employees were introduced to the new location of FSG’s New York City branch.
Hosted by the northeast group, over 100 FSG employees visited the 8th Avenue location, where Division 25 relocated in December. FSG NYC is unique in that it is not the stereotypical FSG branch with a warehouse, fleet of trucks in a large industrial facility. Instead, it is a second floor office suite, housed on the historic 8th Avenue in a NYC loft office building. This branch houses a different type of FSG location, which is mainly a provider of lighting fixture package services to the new construction, renovation, and remodel industry of New York City. “In 2014, the branch expanded to offer the many services of FSG, including Energy Solutions and MRO Supplies to further introduce FSG’s wealth of products and services to our strong relationships in NYC ” claims Division Manager Leon Mowadia Jr. Merging operations with Division 24 in Lynbrook, this location now offers the full electrical services and new construction offerring led by Ricky and Doug Tripodo.
FSG employees were given demonstrations on the various best practices of the talented project managers and estimators of Division 25. From the On-Screen takeoff software capabilities of the estimating staff, to the Pro-Core project management software utilized by the project managers, this branch has embraced the efficiencies of new technology and the digital age.
Employees enjoyed a cocktail party while they mingled and had a moment to relax after a long day to kickoff Lightfair International. This was a unique opportunity to bring everyone together to discuss some best practices and share some of their efficiency improvements as well. The feedback was that this was a great opportunity to gather everyone from around the country to collaborate and discuss the future of FSG.
The night continued down the street at O’Sullivans Restaurant where FSG employees were given the 2nd floor for a dinner buffet. The capped off the night perfectly so everyone could go out and enjoy the sights and sounds of what many claim as “the greatest city in the world”. With a moniker like that, it’s a proud day that we can light up our sign on 8th Avenue and show the world that FSG has arrived in the Big Apple!
