FSGE Corpus Christi makes the news by installing solar street lights in Corpus neighborhoods.
A solar street lighting solution has been implemented to overcome the high costs of of trenching in older neighborhoods. These lights provide much needed safety for school children waiting for buses in the early mornings as well as security for the community at night. FSG was the contractor chosen to perform the installation.
The funding for this community project comes from a Federal Grant called Energy Efficient Building Construction Grant (EEBCG). This grant is being utilized in much of South Texas and is available in many other cities and counties across the U.S.
The solar street lighting system is a product of Sol Inc., which is listed on the Texas Buy Board Contract. Currently FSG is the only Sol Inc provider on the Texas Buy Board from which cities and counties are able to purchase. The Sol Inc. system comes with a 20 year warranty and is the leading solar manufacturer in the business with over 20 years of operation.
