Giving Back

buildingBrightStarsWhen you’re living a distracted life, every minute must be accounted for. And no matter how many ways you divide your time and attention, no matter how many duties you try to multi-task, there’s never enough time in a day. So you think….

When the YMCA of Perth Amboy, New Jersey reached out to FSG for some help with the hopes of getting new lighting for a community pre-school they were establishing, Bernie Erickson and David Morales extended their arm. We went by the motto the Y follows “giving back and providing support to our neighbors”.

The goal here was to create a better lighting system to house the newly renovated space they’ve acquired. In this space the Y created a new preschool for the overabundance of 3 year olds in the community of Perth Amboy. The new preschool program at the Y is titled Building Bright Stars and what better way to help then to install brighter lights! So many thanks go out to all who generously contributed. Simkar Corporation donated (136) NEW 2X4 3 Light Fixtures. Philips Lighting Co. donated (360) F32T8ADV835 fluorescent bulbs. And none of which would have been installed if it weren’t for those that volunteered their talent and most of all TIME.

The old ways of saying thanks sometimes don’t seem like enough. And sometimes handing out a trinket feels almost ludicrous in exchange for some of the momentous gifts of time and energy that our volunteers generously offered. So here it goes anyway, a huge THANK YOU to; Kevin Grella, Chris Nibbs, Ishmael Reynoso, Roberto Ortega, Raylin Sanchez, Jake Nieves, Glen Holck, Marvin Samuel, Baris Turan, Eric Sandvig, Chris Grullon, Rafael Ramos, Chris Barker, and John Linesch.

Even in a distracted life, countless other duties and the ever so notorious multi-tasking day these great people stopped and took time out of their busy and hectic schedules to help out a community. So I personally would like to thank each and every one of you for your devotion, dedication and again TIME to getting this project complete.
