Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the structure is meant to pay homage to the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. As monumental as the building is to view during daylight hours, the lighting design illuminates and accentuates the beautiful structure, attracting the attention of all passers-by.

The Illumination Award for Interior Lighting Design recognizes exceptional interior lighting pojects that balance the functional illumination of space with the artistic application of light to enhance the occupant’s experience.
