FSG Illuminates the Pickleball National Championships
Thousands of athletes and fans are in Farmers Branch, Texas this week to attend the 2023 USA Pickleball National Championships at Brookhaven Country Club. Did you know FSG played a part in this event?
Pickleball is a quirky blend of tennis, ping-pong, and badminton and is the fastest-growing sport in the United States with over 36 million players and a staggering 160% growth in the last three years. The national championships used to be held in California, but due to its massive increase in popularity, officials have moved the championships to Texas to be more centrally located in the country. To prepare for this, Brookhaven had to invest in significant upgrades to their facility.
In order to support a championship of this size, Brookhaven Country Club underwent a $5.3 million renovation, transforming into a state-of-the-art pickleball hub with 28 permanent outdoor courts. As the event requires 80 pickleball courts, some tennis courts have been temporarily repurposed, showcasing the dedication to making the championships a grand success. As a part of those upgrades, FSG partnered with Club Corp to provide the lighting and electrical supply work on this project, totaling around $1.5 million.
